Using The Hypnotic Reframing Technique

Using The Hypnotic Reframing Technique
Framing is the context in which people use to attribute meaning to the information they receive. Everyone has a unique way in which he looks at things and is different from another person's perspective. People might see the package of information positive while others will see the same set of information in a neutral way and still, others will see it in a negative way. It's all about perception. In hypnosis techniques, framing is being used for trance inducing almost all the time. A successful hypnotizer is able to change somebody's frames without him noticing the fact and create positive attitude towards hypnosis or his own goals in few sentences. The most popular example is the glass is half-empty vs. the glass is half-full. The hypnotist simply takes his clients information and attributes a new meaning to it. Reframing is used in different contexts in our daily lives. It is preferred by public relation agencies because they realize that it's such a powerful tool. Debates between political parties use reframing in attempts to convince the public to follow them.

Reframing is thus a foundation for conversational hypnosis and street hypnosis. Reframing is of two forms which are context and meaning reframing. When using reframing as a technique of successful trance induction, a hypnotist tries to make someone look at a simple situation from a different point of view. A good example of context reframing is when a person decides to buy tickets to go to the movies but he is undecided on which movie to go for. In this context, you can use your reframing skills to make him change his mind and convince him to watch a movie that he doesn't even like. For instance, you can make him watch horror movies which he doesn't like. You can convince him that horror movies help drive out fear and become braver. This way, you present horror movies in a new positive context as opposed to his negative view of horrors. You present horror movies as something that can help him make some positive changes in his life rather than instilling fear in him. This is referred to as context framing.

As opposed to context framing, meaning framing help change the meaning of the actual frame. In the above scenario, the original frame was that horror movies are bad. Changing the frame may require you to change the actual meaning of frame. You can convince your friend that what he saw was only the bad horror films so what he reviews as a bad horrors is essentially a small percentage of horror movies otherwise horror movies are good. Convince him that they include some good masterpieces like the film you have chosen for him to watch. Once again you have succeeded in changing the frame to a positive one.

Generally, reframing is used mainly in inducing hypnotic trance and for making people look at a certain idea from different perspectives.

Hypnosis can change the way we see things. Some of the hypnosis techniques are designed to gain positive attitude towards different events in life and if they are successfully implemented, they can reframe view points and way of thinking in a positive way. The hypnotist can use innovative hypnosis techniques and motivate the subject to gain different perspectives throughout his life which can make significant difference in the future life of the subject.
